Have you always wanted to learn to knit socks but been afraid to try? Now’s your chance to learn from our shop sock expert, Patricia. Our new Sock Knit-Along starts next Wednesday, December 10 at 5pm. and is All About Socks. We will cover everything you need to know to make beautiful socks using a variety of techniques. You can even make a Christmas stocking if you wish – although then you won’t be learning to make two socks at once. You can choose from the following sock-making techniques:
- Two socks on one circular needle (aka “Magic Loop”) toe up or cuff down
- Two socks on two circular needles, toe up or cuff down
- Two socks with one inside the other, one or two circular needles
- Two socks on two sets of double-pointed needles (DPNs) or two 9″ circular needles
You will also learn about sock architecture and the different ways to execute each part: cuff, leg, heel, foot and toe. Basic skills needed for the Sock KAL are:
- Advanced beginner or intermediate knitting skills
- Familiar with knitting in the round using any method above
- Eagerness to learn some new tricks!
As always, participation is free when you purchase your materials at Yarn & Thread Expressions. Please register today – this is a popular KAL that always fills up fast! Click Here to register
